MINA is a tribute to the legendary Italian singer on her 85th birthday, the piece captures Mina’s profile, suspended within a hand-blown glass vessel. Emerging from molten glass and shaped in accordance with Murano’s time-honoured tradition, the work takes form through the swift, precise gestures of the master glassmaker, who molds the material with absolute control. There is no room for improvisation: every movement is a perfect balance between tension and restraint, strength and measure. It is the same principle that governs a great voice.
